The United States Logistics Growth Index eased to 52.9 in September, slipping 0.5 points from the prior month as softening sentiment and deepening capacity constraints offset robust underlying demand. Despite the pullback, the index retained its 1st of 5 regional standing.

“US freight demand is holding up, but the network is under strain. Chokepoint disruptions and rising inland congestion cut transport capacity, while falling consumer confidence and sharply higher fuel costs weighed on business sentiment, pulling the reading down.”
