Privacy Policy

How WRI Intelligence handles your personal data.

Who controls your data

WRI Intelligence is a service of the World Research Institute — the intelligence and research arm of the World Certification Institute, a global certification and accreditation body serving organisations in 150+ countries. The data controller for WRI Intelligence is World Certification Institute Pte. Ltd. (trading as World Research Institute). Our payment processor, Stripe, processes your payment data as a processor and, for fraud-prevention and regulatory purposes, as an independent controller under its own terms. Contact for privacy matters: privacy@worldresearch.org.

What we collect

  • Account details: name and email address, and — if you sign in with Google — your Google profile image.
  • Profile details: how you use WRI Intelligence, organisation, country, sector, seniority, organisation size and annual turnover — to understand our audience and tailor reports. These are voluntary in your account settings (you can edit or clear them anytime); however, they are required if you request a complimentary copy, to confirm eligibility for the offer and tailor and deliver the right edition.
  • Purchase data: editions and subscriptions you buy, billing country, and the IP address at the time of purchase.
  • Complimentary copy requests, if you make one: the qualification details you provide (name, organisation, role, seniority, sector, organisation size, annual turnover and where you are based) and which country edition you claimed.
  • Press / media access requests, if you submit one: your outlet, role, where you are based, the report you most need, a published-article or outlet URL for verification, and any note you add.
  • Technical & security data: the IP address and device/browser (user-agent) for each sign-in session, used to keep you signed in, secure your account, and send new-device sign-in alerts.
  • Consent records: the auto-renewal and immediate-supply consents you give, with timestamps.
  • Communication preferences: your marketing opt-in/opt-out choice (with the timestamp of consent) and your edition-alert setting.
  • Payment data is collected by Stripe; we receive only limited details (e.g. card brand/last-4, billing country), never full card numbers.

Why we use it & our legal bases

  • Performing our contract — creating your account, fulfilling and recording purchases, providing access to your reports, customer support.
  • Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and consumer-law record-keeping (including auto-renewal consent retention).
  • Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, securing the service, and product improvement.
  • Consent — any optional marketing email, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

Service providers acting for us: Stripe (payments); our email-delivery provider (transactional email); our email-validation provider (your email address, and the IP address at sign-up, are checked to block disposable or undeliverable addresses); Google (Tag Manager and any analytics it loads, only with your consent — and Google sign-in if you choose to use it); and our hosting/infrastructure providers. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

We and our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and the EU/EEA. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

Retention

We keep account and purchase records for as long as your account is active and as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Auto-renewal consent records are retained for at least three years (or one year after termination, whichever is longer). Marketing-consent records (your opt-in/opt-out and its timestamp) are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to evidence the consent, then removed or anonymised. Outbound transactional emails (e.g. receipts and security alerts) are also copied to an internal archival mailbox we control, for record-keeping and support.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the EU/UK GDPR), you may request access to, rectification or erasure of, or restriction of, your personal data; object to certain processing; request portability; and withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise a right, contact privacy@worldresearch.org.

Press and media outreach

Separately from your use of this site, World Research Institute runs an editorial press programme for the Logistics Growth Index (LGI). If you are a journalist, editor, or a contact at a research institution, university, trade association, government body or logistics organisation, we may hold business-contact details about you for this purpose and send you a brief, relevant note when a new LGI edition is released. This section is your notice under Article 14 of the GDPR — the case where we obtain data about you from a source other than you.

  • What we hold: your organisation, your professional role, a published work or role email address, the topic or beat you cover, the country your work relates to, the public source where we found your details, and a short note on why the LGI is relevant to your coverage. We do not collect special-category or financial data for this purpose.
  • Where it comes from: publicly available sources — chiefly your organisation’s own published contact, press or team pages. We prefer published role addresses (for example press@, editorial@, newsdesk@) and record the source for each.
  • Why, and our legal basis: our legitimate interests (and yours, and the public’s) in independent economic research reaching the relevant press. This is editorial outreach, not product marketing — we do not promote paid reports or include a purchase link. Where your own jurisdiction requires prior consent for such contact, we do not rely on legitimate interests and do not email you.
  • Who we share it with: providers acting for us — our email-validation provider, a web-content provider that fetches public pages to confirm a published address, and our email provider (sending, and handling any reply). We do not sell these details.
  • Retention: we keep the details only while they remain relevant to press relations, and remove them on request or when they become out of date.
  • Your choices and rights: every message includes a one-step opt-out (reply “unsubscribe”). You can also object, or ask to see, correct or erase your details, at any time by emailing privacy@worldresearch.org, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We keep a suppression record of opt-outs so that we do not contact you again.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep you signed in and operate the site securely — these are always on. With your consent, we also set analytics cookies through Google Tag Manager (which may load Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. Analytics is off by default (we use Google Consent Mode) and runs only after you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner. You can decline — the site works fully either way — and you can change your choice at any time by clearing the wri_consent cookie in your browser. We run no advertising cookies.

Separately, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first tool that measures aggregate traffic — visits, pages, and referral sources — without cookies and without collecting personal data. It sets nothing on your device and cannot identify you, so it needs no consent and runs for all visitors; it is not affected by the cookie choice above.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will post the revised version here with a new date.
