WRI’s assessment
Turkey’s logistics sector maintained a firm expansionary trajectory in September, with the headline index advancing to 54.6, up 0.9 points, as robust export volumes and terminal automation upgrades propelled growth. The Business Volume and Goods for Sale indices led the expansion, supported by record export activity across multiple sectors and strong goods availability.
“Exporters shipped record volumes in most sectors, lifting Turkey’s reading in September. A new airport runway helped transport improve despite severe bottlenecks at sea in the Persian Gulf and rail closures to Europe, though rising fuel and transport costs weighed on manufacturing sentiment.”
