WRI’s assessment

Switzerland’s Logistics Growth Index eased slightly to 52.9 in September, remaining in line with its three-month average and securing sixth place among sixteen European peers. The marginal pullback was primarily driven by a slowdown in business volume and transportation, as factory production slowed and chemical exports declined, reducing overall freight demand.

“Warehouse activity in Switzerland rose in September as firms ran down stocks of finished goods, but factories slowed and exports of chemicals and watches fell sharply, so overall growth eased slightly. Low river levels also disrupted inland barge routes.”
