WRI’s assessment
Spain’s Logistics Growth Index held steady at 52.0 in September, maintaining solid expansion as 6 of 10 sub-indices recorded growth. The headline was anchored by robust warehousing activity, where strong occupier demand and falling vacancy rates drove the index higher, alongside expanding business volumes as factory output and export orders recovered.
“Gains and setbacks balanced out in Spain, so the reading held steady: warehouses were in demand, but falling container traffic pulled transport into contraction. Sharply higher energy prices put pressure on margins, even as business sentiment improved.”
