WRI’s assessment

South Korea’s Logistics Growth Index advanced to 63.3 in September, a 1.2-point gain that secured the top regional ranking among sixteen Asia-Pacific economies. The headline expansion was propelled by the Business Volume Index, which surged to 76.5 as external demand and semiconductor manufacturing output accelerated sharply.

“September was an export story: technology manufacturing and record export throughput drove the gain, and heavy stock-building for the peak season lifted warehousing. The soft spots were weakening local demand and port congestion, which is tightening transport capacity.”
