WRI’s assessment

Mexico’s Logistics Growth Index edged up to 52.2 in September 2026, advancing 0.1 points from the prior month and holding in line with its three-month average. The expansion was primarily propelled by robust export volumes, particularly in electronics, which lifted the Business Volume and Goods for Sale indices despite softer automotive manufacturing.

“Labour shortages, cross-border regulatory friction and hurricane disruptions limited Mexico’s freight capacity in September. The reading still edged up, though: exports were strong, especially of electronics, and warehouses were busier with nearshoring demand and goods positioned ahead of the holidays.”
