WRI’s assessment
Israel’s Logistics Growth Index slipped to 48.2 in September, a 0.5-point decline placing the country 13th of 16 regionally. The contraction was primarily driven by sharp deteriorations in transport capacity and transportation, as regional maritime disruptions and weak global demand constrained vessel movements.
“Maritime bottlenecks and regional security frictions restricted shipping in September, so transport weighed most on the reading. A large share of goods exports is also traded without passing through Israel, which held down local freight despite a rebound in manufacturing.”
