WRI’s assessment
The United Arab Emirates Logistics Growth Index eased to 54.0 in May 2026, down 1.8 points and trailing its three-month average, though it retained an expansionary stance with eight of ten sub-indices signaling growth. The moderation was primarily driven by a sharp pullback in transportation as severe maritime transit disruptions curtailed shipping capacity, alongside deepening contraction in overall transport capacity.
