WRI’s assessment

Egypt’s Logistics Growth Index slipped to 46.9 in May 2026, a 1.3-point decline leaving the country ranked fifth of five regionally. The contraction was primarily driven by deepening slumps in the Transportation and Goods for Sale indices, as month-on-month momentum softened despite strong year-on-year Suez Canal transit volumes and mixed retail availability signals.
