WRI’s assessment
Germany’s Logistics Growth Index fell to 49.6 in August, a 1.7-point decline that leaves the market back in contraction and ranked 12th of 16 regionally. The downturn was primarily driven by slowing business volume and a sharp contraction in transport capacity, where severe driver shortages and constrained road networks struggled to absorb freight displaced from low inland waterways.
