WRI’s assessment

Egypt’s Logistics Growth Index edged up to 49.2 in August 2026, a 0.4-point gain that kept the headline in contraction but still above the three-month average. The improvement was primarily driven by a sharp rise in employment and a rebound in business volume, the latter reflecting a notable surge in canal vessel transits and associated revenues, alongside improving warehousing activity supported by new integrated logistics facilities.
