WRI’s assessment
Canada’s Logistics Growth Index eased to 52.3 in August, down 0.2 points from the prior month, despite robust business activity and expanding freight movement. The headline decline was primarily driven by the Business Sentiment index, which fell into contraction, while the Business Volume and Transportation indices rose, reflecting a strong step-up in commercial operations and direct evidence of rising marine freight flows.
