WRI’s assessment

Algeria’s Logistics Growth Index edged up 0.3 points to 49.9 in August 2026, improving above its three-month average of 49.7 while remaining just below the expansion threshold. The advance was primarily driven by the Transportation Index, which rose 0.7 points to 47.5, alongside the Business Volume Index, which rose 0.2 points to 52.5 on the back of rising machinery imports and upward revisions to economic growth forecasts.
