WRI’s assessment

South Africa’s Logistics Growth Index eased to 50.7 in July 2026, slipping 0.1 points to sit below its three-month average. The marginal cooling was primarily driven by a softening in business volume as factory output contracted, alongside a sharp deterioration in business sentiment amid fuel price shocks and external trade uncertainties.
