WRI’s assessment
France’s Logistics Growth Index slipped to 44.8 in July 2026, a 0.4-point decline that left the headline below its three-month average and anchored the country at the bottom of the European regional ranking. The contraction was primarily driven by a sharp drop in the Transportation Index as declining industrial output reduced underlying freight tonnage while elevated fuel costs squeezed carrier margins.
