WRI’s assessment
The Russia Logistics Growth Index declined to 48.6 in June, a 0.7-point drop that kept the sector in contraction, though the reading remained marginally above its three-month average. The downturn was primarily driven by severe weakness in transportation and transport capacity, as western rail freight volumes fell to multi-decade lows, despite partial offsets from eastern trade corridors.
